birch sweater is knit top-down in the round. stitches are cast on for the neck and worked as a
tube. the yoke is then worked with raglan increases. after this, the sweater is divided into body and sleeves. the sleeves are worked in stockinette stitch without decreases and finished with a long ribbed cuff, that is folded up and sewn. the body is worked in the same manner as the sleeves and at the end, optional short rows are used to shape the back of the body. the body isthen split in two and the ribbing is worked flat.
