Newbie Beanie is designed to keep the tiniest heads warm, with a snug fit that isn’t too large or bulky. The idea behind the beanie is for you to bring it to the delivery room, knit it as a maternity gift, or donate it to your local maternity ward. I recommend knitting the hat in fine, non-superwash merino wool, as it is the softest and helps the baby regulate their body- temperature. The beanie is knit bottom-up in ribbing, and the pattern is beginner-friendly, including explanations and tutorial videos.
