Every month, we will interview one of our designers, get to know them a little better, and maybe learn a few things we didn’t already know. The designer of the month in March is Marie, better known as ullenknitwear.
Who are you?
I’m Maria, 24 years old, and I live in Moss with my fiancé and a little (big) puppy.
Tell us a bit about your knitting journey
I started my knitting journey when I was 16, and my first project was actually Selbu mittens.
What made you start designing?
In 2022, I became chronically ill, was constantly in a horizontal position, and needed a light activity that gave me a sense of accomplishment—and that’s how Ullen Knitwear was born!
What inspires your design process?
Everything inspires me—clothes I have or have had before, nature, Pinterest, and generally all kinds of things in life.
What do you do when you’re not knitting?
When I’m not knitting, I spend time with my loved ones and focus on my health.
What can we look forward to seeing from you in the future?
Going forward, I’ll be expanding my existing designs into new formats while also creating lots of new ones. I’m really excited for 2025!
