Butterfly dress

The butterfly dress is worked top-down in st st with double yarn, one of each type, or other yarn matching with the gauge. Beginning with the shoulders, working increases towards the front piece neckline. You will then pick up the stitches on the top of the shoulders, and work the back piece, with increases towards the back neckline. When the front piece and back piece have identical length, the parts are gathered, and you start to work in rounds. Before making the skirt, bind off the top, and pick up twice the amount of stitches. Increase several rounds to get a nice width to the skirt. Pick up stitches around the armhole edge. The sleeves are worked with increases to get a beautiful flounce, and finishes with a folded hem. Finish with picking up stitches around the neckline, and can be worked both as a folded hem, or a single neckline.
