The pattern for Matoaka was first published in my first book, Wilderness Knits from 2019. Now, I have made a thick version with a round yoke for cold winter days. The sweater is knitted in Troll and/or Blåne from Hillesvåg Yarns, but you can use other yarns such as Alafosslopi if you want a water-resistant sweater. The sweater is knitted in the round, from the bottom up. The body and sleeves are knitted separately before they are gathered on one needle. Matoaka Polar is a thick sweater that can be knitted as a sweater with a short or high neck, or as a hooded version. Matoaka Polar Hoodie has a hood and extra length on the body so that you are dressed for extra cold days.
